As part of Valve's Steam Next Fest: February 2025 Edition, a demo for the horror shooter Total Chaos has dropped. The game comes from the mind behind Turbo Overkill.
Total Chaos is a remake of the eponymous Doom 2 mod built on the GZDoom engine. Originally released in 2018, the mod garnered widespread acclaim. Like the original mod, the game is set in the once-thriving mining town of Fort Oasis. Players will explore the deserted settlement, uncovering what happened and where all the residents vanished to. The developers highlight the game's oppressive atmosphere, the ability to craft and upgrade weapons using scavenged materials, terrifying monsters, and a deep inventory system as key features.
The Steam Next Fest runs until March 3rd. Hundreds of demos are available to try out before the event ends, including the Gothic remake, Game of Thrones: Kingsroad, KIBORG, Chernobylite 2: Exclusion Zone, Solasta 2, Tempest Rising, The First Berserker: Khazan, Among Us 3D, and many more.
