This turn-based fantasy strategy game is set in the world of Irdya, where campaigns follow struggles for a throne, battles against orcs and undead, and other adventures spanning centuries. In Battle for Wesnoth, players lead forces through solo campaigns and fight on multiplayer maps. Online play features seven factions, with maps for parties of different sizes.
Alongside the built-in scenarios, the game includes community-created campaigns, maps, and factions for both solo and multiplayer play. A built-in editor lets players create maps, while the moddable engine and scripting language support custom content.
