Beyblade is an action game with simulator elements and a top-down view. This is a tournament-style game with very few role-playing elements. It consists of two modes: tournament mode and free battle. Tournament mode is a story mode of the game that has 11 matches. Free mode allows players to fight as or against characters from the Beyblade anime, as well as custom characters saved on the memory card.
