Beyond Divinity is a fantasy role-playing game about a paladin whose soul has been bound to that of a Death Knight. To avoid spending eternity beside this creature of evil, the hero must seek a way to lift the curse. The adventure spans four story acts and includes non-linear quests, while randomly generated battlefields offer additional enemies, loot and quests.
Character development has no fixed classes: players shape their character by choosing traits and learning skills, including alchemy and crafting. Combat allows seamless switching between the paladin and the Death Knight, pausing the action to issue commands, and summoning dolls to expand the party. Objects can be examined, traded, used and combined to make potions or apply poison to weapons.
