A 2D side-scrolling platformer in which Charlie explores levels and collects coins, diamonds, and power-ups. He defeats enemies by jumping on them, while diving underwater can reveal hidden areas.
To leave a level, Charlie must collect a required share of its coins and diamonds: 45%, 60%, or 75%, depending on the difficulty. Levels also contain the letters of his name and secret exits that lead to hidden stages. After completing the game, players can select levels again to find missed items and secret areas and improve their scores.
