This third-person action horror game follows freelance journalist Frank West, who travels to the town of Willamette in search of a major story and finds it overrun by zombies. Taking shelter in a shopping mall, Frank must fight the undead while investigating the cause of the outbreak.
The game is divided into individual cases that provide information about the epidemic, alongside timed missions to rescue other survivors. The player must prioritize whom to save and may have to postpone a case to reach someone in time. Shops contain conventional and improvised weapons, while food from restaurants and cafés restores Frank’s health. Comedic costumes and sometimes ineffective items offer unconventional ways to face the zombies.
