Happy Tree Friends: False Alarm is an action puzzle game about rescuing characters from disasters such as earthquakes and fires. Players direct a rescue squad consisting of Flippy, Handy, and Lumpy as they help Cuddles, Toothy, Flaky, and other friends in danger. The goal in each scenario is to save as many characters as possible.
Each squad member has distinct abilities, including hurling concrete, spraying water, and throwing nitroglycerin. The environments respond to physics-based interactions, allowing players to alter the surroundings to solve problems, with actions leading to unpredictable outcomes. The game features ten disaster scenarios, including a mine shaft, a candy factory, and a museum.
