Infected is a third-person shooter set in New York City at Christmas, where a strange virus turns ordinary people into violent, deranged Infected. Rookie officer Stevens is immune, and Dr. Schaeffer discovers that his blood can destroy the creatures, then creates a viral gun that uses it to fire deadly rounds.
The single-player campaign centers on fighting the Infected with this weapon. Multiplayer modes include Deathmatch and Team Deathmatch, where players create avatars and can pass a defeated opponent’s avatar to them, earning ranking points. Players can also form clans with shared uniforms, while avatars spread from one participant to another in chains of infection.
