MLB 09: The Show is a baseball simulation that lets players follow an individual athlete’s career or manage a club in Franchise mode. In Road to the Show, interactive training drills cover different aspects of baseball and help improve the character’s abilities. The mode also adds settings, coach interactions and an updated system for stealing bases and taking leads.
Franchise mode includes a 40-man roster, salary arbitration, waiver transactions and September call-ups. Training and practice drills can also be selected separately. Realistic details include stadiums and signage, field wear, lighting transitions from dusk to night, animated scoreboards, crowd reactions and weather-appropriate clothing.
