This action-adventure game with platforming and fighting elements follows Sub-Zero on a quest to find an ancient amulet. Its events take place before the tournament in the first Mortal Kombat and lead into Mortal Kombat 4.
The hero traverses platforming levels and fights enemies with strikes, combos, and blocks. He can run, jump over pits, grab ledges, climb ropes, and pick up items. Combos earn experience points, which can increase his strength and unlock special moves; using those moves requires a supply of ice power.
