This humorous role-playing adventure follows a world dealing with the aftermath of the heroes’ defeat. Rather than playing as the heroes, the player takes the role of non-player characters and helps them, seeing events from a different perspective. Its eight chapters vary in atmosphere, gameplay, and protagonist, with characters including a jester, a goblin, and members of the hero’s family.
In battles, heroes can be called in to perform a powerful move; they stay out of combat otherwise, and their action depends on where they are in the story. Levels receive performance ratings, and stage selection allows them to be replayed to improve those results. Materials collected along the way upgrade weapons, armor, and potions, while the overall ranking unlocks extra content.
