Set in the age of sail, this role-playing game follows young captain Nicholas Sharp as he sets out across an Atlantic archipelago to make his name. He gathers a crew and takes to the sea, while the quests he pursues and the choices he makes shape his career.
In Sea Dogs, players can serve the British, French or Spanish, become pirates, or change allegiances during the nonlinear campaign. Character development, hiring crew and other captains, acquiring ships and building a fleet support a range of approaches. Activities include naval battles, capturing ships and forts, treasure hunts, duels and boarding actions. Wind and weather affect ships, and the world has a day-and-night cycle.
