This narrative role-playing life simulator follows a recently married author on a cross-country bus tour to promote a new novel. As the journey passes through five cities, the protagonist meets fans, critics and fellow passengers, while rumours portraying the author as a fraud lead to a conspiracy that the player’s choices help uncover.
The player decides how the character lives, from working diligently to taking a more relaxed approach. Dialogue choices and relationships with the protagonist’s spouse, friends and fellow travellers shape the story. Most activities, including the main narrative, can be declined, and a save from Always Sometimes Monsters can carry the previous story forward.
