This real-time strategy game is set in the Star Wars universe a few years before the events of Episode IV: A New Hope, and covers the creation of the Rebel Alliance and Darth Vader’s rise to power. Players choose either the Rebel Alliance or the Galactic Empire and lead ground and space battles on familiar planets such as Hoth, Tatooine, and Dagobah, as well as other locations drawn from Star Wars films and books.
Armies, troops, and vehicles can be built, developed, and deployed in real-time tactical battles. Events in the campaign and battles affect the ongoing struggle across the galaxy, while Star Wars heroes take part in key situations. Alongside the single-player campaign, the game includes a two-player Empire versus Rebellion mode and online skirmishes for up to eight players.
