This open-world adventure combines survival and horror: after being pulled through a space-time vortex, the protagonist finds himself on an alien planet. In story mode, he explores the island and searches for a way to escape, while information about dramatic changes on Earth emerges gradually. Local creatures pose a constant threat, so survival calls for stealth, shelter building and combat.
Survival mode centers on protecting an injured friend, Mike, and keeping him alive. The player gathers resources and food, hunts, crafts equipment and builds structures; hunger, thirst, stamina, health and temperature all affect survival. The day-night cycle changes conditions on the island, whose locations are designed by hand.
