How to Restore Health Outside of Combat

Outside of combat, you can restore health using regular beds, as each hour of rest will replenish a small amount of health. Note that the more comfortable the bed, the more health the main character will receive. Some beds become available for free as you complete storyline quests, while others can be rented in taverns.

For example, completing a few quests from the Blacksmith or the Miller will grant access to two beds. As you progress through the story, players will gain access to similar facilities in Trosky Castle and other locations.

Tip: Sleeping in someone else's bed is unsafe, even if you're tempted. If the owner catches you resting, they will report you to the authorities. In this case, you'll have to pay a fine.

If there is a hero's chest icon on the map where you can store your belongings, it means there is a bed nearby where you can rest. Unlike regular beds, here you can also save your progress.

It's worth noting that each hour of sleep not only restores the character's health but also increases hunger. However, there are usually pots with food near such beds to satisfy your hunger.

How to Restore Health in Combat

Restoring health in combat is no easy task, as there are not many available methods. One of them is using a special calendula potion, which comes in three variants: weak, regular, and strong. Fortunately, this potion is not rare — it can be purchased from apothecaries or crafted on your own.

It is recommended to first acquire a special pouch for potions to use them from a quick slot. Depending on the type of pouch, you can carry up to four slots. It's important to note that in combat, only the potions placed in these slots are available, whereas outside of combat, potions can be used directly from the inventory.

The potion's effect is quite simple: after using it, health is gradually restored over a certain period. For example, a regular potion will restore 25 health points, while a strong one will restore 40.

Where to Buy Calendula Potion and Recipe

As mentioned above, the potions themselves can be purchased from apothecaries in various towns. But if you prefer to craft potions yourself, you'll first need to buy a calendula potion recipe. In the Trosky region, you'll find it at the apothecary's stall in Troskovice, but only after completing the fourth storyline quest. The price of recipes varies depending on their quality (regular, strong).

In Kuttenberg, you will have the opportunity to purchase recipes, although by the time you complete the fourteenth main quest, this may no longer be necessary. Nevertheless, if the desire arises, you can always turn to the apothecary.
